Carroll County Board of Commissioners Submit Motion to Dismiss PSEG’s Letter Objecting to Planning Commission Schedule

Westminster, MD, Wednesday, October 29, 2025 – The Carroll County Board of Commissioners’ (BoC) latest legal action in opposing the Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project (MPRP) took place earlier this week with first, filing a response to Public Service Enterprise Group’s (PSEG) objection to the Public Service Commissions’ (PSC) Scheduling Order and second, a Motion to Dismiss PSEG’s application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) to construct a new 500kV transmission line in areas of Baltimore, Carroll and Frederick Counties.

Late September, the BoC filed an Amicus Brief to show solidarity with Carroll County landowners affected by MPRP. This time, the BoC joined forces with The Maryland Farm Bureaus, Stop MPRP, and numerous other landowners asking that PSEG ‘s request for a “target decision date” and an amended (accelerated) procedural schedule be denied and that the petition for the CPCN be dismissed due to PSEG’s admitted inability to meet its construction targets.
