Event Provides Vehicles for Local Veterans

Westminster, MD, Wednesday, November 10, 2021 – On the eve of Veterans Day, Commissioner Ed Rothstein and staff from the Carroll County Veterans Services Program, part of the Carroll County Department of Citizen Services, gathered today at an event to award vehicles to two Carroll County Veterans. The theme of the event was Veterans helping Veterans to be successful.

Vehicles for Change partnered with Heritage, Mile One of Owings Mills to award 10 cars to Maryland Veterans in honor of Veterans Day. Vehicles for Change is a nonprofit organization receiving 99 percent of its car donations from the public. The organization repairs cars that meet quality standards and then awards them to eligible families. Vehicles for Change worked with Carroll County’s Veterans Services Program and the Carroll County Veteran Independence Project to identify two deserving Veterans for this special event.

Veteran Ed Rothstein, Commissioner, District 5, and Tzadda Carpenter, Awards Coordinator for Vehicles for Change and also a Veteran, were on hand to present the two Veterans with keys to their new cars.
