Statement on Resignation of Fire/EMS Director

Westminster, MD, Monday, May 24, 2021 – Carroll County Fire/EMS Direct Robert McCoy, Jr. resigned his position with Carroll County Government, effective immediately.

We thank Mr. McCoy for his work to date on the development of newly established Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services and wish him well on his future endeavors.

The new department is critical to the development of the combination fire service in the county. As this is an important issue moving forward, internal staff will continue to investigate the best path as an extensive search for a new director begins.
