Volunteer and Donation Opportunities
Westminster, Md, Friday, May 8, 2020 – Carroll County Government developed a new webpage on the main county website listing opportunities for the community to volunteer or donate to the local COVID-19 response. As the coronavirus health pandemic situation extends, with no certain end date, Carroll County and the State of Maryland have several opportunities for members of the public to contribute to those needing assistance.
Many residents look for ways to come together (from a distance) and lend a helping hand to our neighbors, friends, family, and those in need. If you are interested in helping community partners to aid those needing support, by volunteering or providing donations, please visit carrollcountymd.gov/carrollcares.
There are various agencies in need of volunteer staffing support including the American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, Maryland Responds Medical Reserve Corps, and more.
Some of the local response agencies requesting SPECIFIC donations include local fire departments, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Carroll Hospital, Carroll County Health Department, and more. Some specific requests are listed below, and updates will be listed on the webpage.

The agencies below are looking for your help in allowing them to effectively respond to the COVID-19 situation. BEFORE YOU DONATE, please contact agency offices at the information provided below to follow appropriate donations procedures and make sure that they align with what they’re asking for at the time. Also, please only provide donations that they are accepting at the time to ensure your donations do not go to waste.

N95 or KN95 masks (Must meet CDC guidelines and be in original packaging), Cloth masks or surgical masks, Packs of Paper Lunch Bags, Dry Wipe Off Shop Towels, Dry Handi-wipes, Spray Bleach Cleaner, Clorox Wipes, Lysol Disinfectant Spray
*No donations will be accepted at the office unless vetted through CCSO staff first. Arrangements will be made with the donor as to drop off or pick up locations. The Sheriff’s Office will provide a receipt for the donation, as all donations are accepted through our fund “Friends of the CCSO”, which is managed by the Community Foundation of Carroll County.
