 Recycling….Awkward Items
Westminster, MD, Monday, July 15, 2019 – Recycling is an important process in any community. There are many household items that are not recyclable in your curbside bin, but are recyclable by other methods. Below are several categories of items and potential recycling opportunities, most contain links for more information:
Used CFLs (Compact fluorescent lamps) - These energy-efficient bulbs are becoming easier to get rid of. Just drop old bulbs off at any Home Depot or Lowe’s Hardware for free recycling or ask about CFL recycling at your local Ace Hardware store. They are also accepted at the Carroll County twice-yearly Household Hazardous Waste Events.
Rigid Plastic Drop Off - A separate drop-off container for these items is available at the Northern and Hoods Mill landfills
