County Statement on Carroll County Youth Football Cheer League

WESTMINSTER, MD, Tuesday, October 30, 2018 – In light of recent events concerning the Carroll County Youth Football Cheer League, the Carroll County Board of Commissioners issued the following statement:

The CCYFCL is a youth football/cheer league comprised of teams from multiple counties (Carroll - 5 Montgomery - 3, Baltimore - 2).  Although some Carroll County recreation council teams participate, Carroll County Recreation and Parks does not operate nor sponsor this league. The league is an independent organization whose decisions are governed by its members and league by-laws. 

As a courtesy, Carroll County Recreation and Parks was informed of the league’s previously made decision on Friday 10/26/18; however, the Department did not participate in the decision-making process.
