TRAFFIC ALERT-Flag Marsh Road/Newport Road
Woodbine, Maryland, August 13, 2018-On or about Monday, August 27, 2018 the CSX railroad is planning on beginning repairs at the
railroad crossing on Flag Marsh/Newport Road. The repairs are scheduled to be completed by the
end of the day on August 30, 2018.
Motorists should use the alternate routes to avoid delays. Carroll County thanks motorists for their
patience and cooperation and reminds them to use caution while driving through the work area.
TRAFFIC ALERT – Cape Horn Road Closure
On or about, Monday, August 20, 2018, the Department of Public Works will be closing Cape Horn
Road at Harvey Gummel Road for structure replacement. Detour routes will be posted.
Carroll County appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation with any travel delays or difficulties
that this roadway closure and construction project may result in. Please contact the Bureau of
Engineering at 410-386-2157 for additional information or with any questions regarding this matter.
TRAFFIC ALERT – SHAFFER MILL AND GRAVE RUN ROADS
River Valley Trail Run
River Valley Ranch (RVR) will be hosting the River Valley Run, a 15k trail race, a
10k trail race, a 5k trail race and a 5K road race on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 7:00 am. The
proceeds from the River Valley Run will go to help fund summer camp scholarships for disadvantaged
children as well as to the general sustainability of River Valley Ranch.
The following roadways will be closed to all traffic and motorists will need to utilize alternate
routes around this area on August 18, 2018 during the hours of 7:00 am and 11 a.m.: Shaffer
Mill Road from Grave Run to just before Lineboro Rd East and Grave Run Road from just before
Roller Road to Shaffer Mill Road.
