Emergency Water Main Repair on Oklahoma Road

Emergency Water Main Repair on Oklahoma Road

Sykesville, MD, April 19, 2018 – The Carroll County Bureau of Utilities has shut off water service at the intersection of Oklahoma Road and Bennett Road to do an emergency repair to a 6-inch water line hit by a contractor. Approximately 25 homes on Oklahoma Road will be without water while repairs are made to the 6- inch water main.

We anticipate water to be off for several hours and will remain off until repairs are complete.

Once service is restored residents may experience cloudy water lasting up to an hour. Turning the cold water tap on and running water for several minutes will clear the lines. It is advisable to refrain from using high water volume appliances such as washing machines, dishwashers, etc., during periods of cloudy water or low pressure.

If you have any questions please call the Bureau of Utilities office at 410-386-2164.
