Employees Recognized for Successful Veterans Forum

Westminster, MD, Thursday, February 1, 2018 – The Board of County Commissioners (BCC) recognized two Carroll County Government employees today for their dedication and commitment to coordinating the county’s first Veterans Provider Forum.

Gina Valentine, Aging & Disabilities Supervisor and Leslie Wagner, Special Projects Coordinator were acknowledged for being instrumental in coordinating the Provider Forum for Veteran Services held on Friday, January 26, 2018.  Ms. Valentine and Ms. Wagner were given Certificates of Appreciation for their dedication to Veterans and their creativity and collaborative approach in creating a first time event which far exceeded anticipated participation.

The event, which attracted over 200 participants and agencies, provided information and the opportunity to connect Veterans and their families and service providers to available resources. Additionally, the event partnered with AARP Maryland to provide a special ceremony celebrating over 70 Vietnam War Era Veterans.

The recognition ceremony is available by viewing Open Session today on the county meeting portal.  The Open Session will be rebroadcast on Comcast Channel 24 this evening at 7:30 PM.
