Wantz Seeks Volunteers for Silver Run/Union Mills Citizen Advisory Group

Westminster, MD, Thursday, January 11, 2018 - Commissioner Stephen Wantz is looking for volunteers living in Silver Run and Union Mills to discuss a variety of local area issues including: safety, internet availability, economic enhancement and the new community center.

Commissioner Wantz envisions a group comprised of residents, business owners, community group representatives and religious leaders.  The advisory group will meet bi-monthly beginning in February.

“Rural villages in Carroll County have many challenges and I want to hear about the issues straight from those affected citizens,” said Commissioner Wantz, “For example, route 97 in Silver Run and Union Mills, causes an enormous amount of traffic in the area. I hope to directly involve folks in those communities in discussions about possible solutions.”

Citizens interested in participating can email Vivian Daly for an application at vdaly@ccg.carr.org.  The deadline to submit an application is February 12, 2018.  Commissioner Wantz plans to have the first meeting in March.
