Dear Leaders,
As you know I along with the 45th Legislative District Delegation are fighting to have the 2nd District included in the first phase of the 21st Century Schools Plan. Earlier this week I joined students, parents, teachers and other elected officials as we visited the school board to show a united front in support of our kids. There is simply no excuse for our area which has the highest concentration of school students, and buildings that are overcrowded and dilapidated to not be included in the first phase of the plan. This Wednesday the school board will vote on the propose recommendations which ignore our district. We need you to let them know you support or suggestions to improve our schools. Please call Baltimore City Schools Board of School Commissioners at 410-396-8709 and let them know you support the suggestions of Councilman Scott and the 45th District Delegation. This is a once in a lifetime chance to drasticly improve the lives of our children and we need everyone's help! Please make the call or send a email by clicking here.
Sincerely,
Councilman Brandon M. Scott 2nd District - Baltimore City Council

This month the Second Saturdays Scholars visited Councilman Scott's Alma Mater St. Mary's College of Maryland to get a taste of the college experience. The scholars met with staff and students where they asked questions about college life before receiving a campus tour. Lastly, the students attended the men's basketball game where the Seahawks were victorious over Mary Washington. We must introduce our young people to higher education as early as possible in order for them to fully understand and appreciate what it has to offer. |
Recently, Councilman Scott was able to join residents of the Belair-Edison community to celebrate the holiday season but also learn and share what's going on in the neighborhood. It was a great time to fellowship with the community and enjoy the holiday spirit. |

Councilman Scott had the opportunity to speak to graduate students at the University of Baltimore for it's Innovation Week. He was able to inform the students about some of the innovative things that the City of Baltimore is doing as its related sharing information. The students were great, and posed some really great questions. |

Recently, Counilman Scott was able to speak to PRAISE Scholars for the Truth About Cops and Saving Our Sons Panel. He was joined by Munir Bahar and Colonel Darryl DeSousa. The discussion was a excellent open dialogue. We look forward to deeper discussions and collaborating with PRAISE
