1600 Blk W. Fayette Street (Western District Non-fatal Shooting)

 

July 23, 2011 / Baltimore, MD - The Baltimore Police Department is investigating a non-fatal shooting that occurred within the 1600 Blk of W. Fayette Street just before 2:30 am, that resulted in a 31 year-old male being struck in the arm.  

At approximately 2:23 am officers responded to the 1500 Blk of W. Fayette Street for report of a shooting.  Upon arrival they located the 31 year-old victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to the arm.  He was conscious and alert, and transported to an area hospital for treatment where, at last check, he was in stable condition.  Preliminary investigation suggests that as the victim stood within the 1600 Blk of W. Fayette Street he was approached by an unknown individual in what appears to be a robbery attempt.  That suspect then fired at the victim before fleeing in an unknown direction.
