PABC Employee Receives Honor

Etta Crafton Receiving Richard Lidinsky Award

On March 20, 2013, Etta Crafton was honored as Runner Up for the Richard A. Lidinsky, Sr. Award of Excellence in Public Service.  The award was established to recognize long-serving City employees who have worked to improve City services and make city government more efficient. The award is named after Mr. Lidinsky, who was employed with Baltimore City for 43 years and served as deputy comptroller under eight mayors.

Etta has been an indispensible member of the Parking Authority since it was created in 2002.  But Etta has been improving parking in Baltimore since the 1980's when she joined the city as a Lead Worker with the Department of Transportation (DOT).  Etta's positions have grown from from “worker” to “investigator” to “analyst.” Her current title is Parking Specialist II, but “specialist” is an understatement for an individual who possesses the vast amounts of technical, institutional, and professional acumen that Ms. Crafton demonstrates. Her unofficial title is “advisor.” Her input is sought after by senior staff in the Parking Authority as well as by other agencies. She is entrusted with representing the Parking Authority at City Council hearings and the Department of Planning’s Site Plan Review Committee meetings.

Congratulations, Etta!
