MCVET 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications that will be in effect for the MCVET 5K Run/Walk and 10K Run which will be held on Sunday, May 26, 2013. The 5K run starts at 7:00 a.m. and the 10K kicks off at 8:00 a.m.
The event will begin at the intersection of Lexington and Holiday Streets. Participants will proceed east on Lexington Street, right on N. Frederick Street, right on E. Fayette Street, left on St. Paul/Light Street, and left on Key Highway. Runners will turn right on Lawrence Street, and left on Fort Avenue to the turnaround point near Fort McHenry. The race will continue along Fort Avenue, right on Woodall Street, left on Key Highway, right on Light Street to Calvert Street, and right on Lexington Street to the finish. The 5K course is similar to the 10K route, except that participants will turn around along Key Highway at Pier Side/Cross Street.
In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed to through traffic on Sunday, May 26, 2013 from 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon:

Holiday Street between Saratoga and Lexington Streets

Lexington Street between Guilford Avenue and Gay Street
In addition, one lane of travel will be coned off for participants along the race route. Commuters should be advised that temporary traffic stops may be implemented during the event for the safety of participants. Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
