Elephant Walk to Lexington Market
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the road closures in effect for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus’ elephant walk from 1st Mariner Arena to Lexington Market.
On Wednesday, April 03, 2013 the elephants will leave 1st Mariner Arena at 11:45 a.m. and walk north along Hopkins Plaza, west on Fayette Street and north on Eutaw Street to the parking lot at Lexington Market. Once the elephants have finished lunch with the spectators, they will leave Lexington Market at 12:30 p.m. and follow the same route back to the arena.
During the procession, the Baltimore City Police will temporarily stop traffic along the walk route. In addition, Eutaw Street will be closed to through traffic from Fayette Street to Saratoga Street between 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.
Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
