MOHS Launches ‘Share the Wear’ Free Clothing Pop Up Shop Series

On Friday, June 20, 2025, MOHS kicked off our free clothing pop up shop summer series for people experiencing homelessness. We are collecting new, unworn, and gently used summer items for men, women, and children. We are accepting donations on a rolling basis, and if you would like to donate, drop off donations to the Mayor’s Office of Homeless Services at 7 E. Redwood St., Baltimore, MD 21202.

Senator Mary Washington, MD Safe Haven Celebrate Grand Opening of LGBTQIA+ Community Hub

On June 13, 2025, MOHS was proud to support our partners at Maryland Safe Haven at their grand opening ceremony for the Senator Mary Washington Building & Jeanette Weinberg Community Hub where they will expand their capacity and access to services for members of the LGBTQIA+ community!

Happy 4th of July – Shelter Hotline Will Be Closed on July 4

In observance of Juneteenth on Friday, July 4, 2025, the Baltimore City Shelter Hotline will be temporarily closed. To access emergency shelter during this time, reach out to the shelters directly.

Help the MOHS Outreach Team support individuals experiencing homelessness this winter by donating new or freshly cleaned winter clothing and other essential items. Email HomelessOutreach@baltimorecity.gov to schedule a donation time.

Executive Letter: Taking Pride in Our Community Partnerships

Dear Baltimore, As we celebrate Pride Month in our vibrant city, we were grateful to have joined our partners at Maryland Safe Haven for the grand opening of the new Senator Mary Washington Building & Jeanette Weinberg Community Hub in East Baltimore. Members of the LGBTQIA+ community are more likely to face discrimination, housing instability, and homelessness which is why I encourage us all to continue advocating and supporting organizations like Maryland Safe Haven.
