Dr. Carter G. Woodson’s 5K Fun Run/Walk

 

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the lane closures in effect for the Dr. Carter G. Woodson’s 5K Fun Run/Walk which will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 starting at 8:30 a.m.

 

The event will begin and end at the Dr. Carter G. Woodson Elementary/Middle School in Cherry Hill. Participants will leave the school and turn left on Seamon Avenue, right on Round Road, right on Cherry Hill Road and right on Waterview Avenue. Runners will then turn right on Potee Street, right onto Cherry Hill Road, left on Seamon Avenue, and then right on Seagull Avenue. Participants will proceed right on Ascension Street, left on Roundview Road, right on Cherry Hill Road and left onto Seabury Road back to the school.

During the event, one lane of travel will be coned off for participants along the walk route from 6:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops may be implemented along the race route for the safety of participants.

 

Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
