MOHS Code Purple Winter Shelter Season Ended March 31
MOHS’ Code Purple Winter Shelter Activation officially ended on Monday, March 31, 2025. We thank our partners at the Baltimore City Health Department (BCHD), Office of Emergency Management (OEM), and the MOHS Emergency Services team for their leadership in yet another successful winter shelter season in which we were able to a critical access point to all city residents in need.
C.A.L.L.E.D Hosts Spring Fling Resource Fair at Pratt Library
On Friday, April 11, 2025, C.A.L.L.E.D in collaboration with Marketplace CDC invites nonprofits, community-based organizations, and City agencies including the Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs (MOCA) and the Mayor's Office of Homeless Services (MOHS) came together to engage families and children and distribute resources.

MOCA Community Pop Up Series Returns!
Mark your calendars! The Mayor's Office of Community Affairs (MOCA) have resumed their pop up series for the Spring and Summer seasons! MOHS will join MOCA and other city agencies to engage residents through sharing resources and information with residents at "pop up" resource events across the city.
Beyond the Bridge: A Solution to Homelessness Film Screening
Beyond the Bridge: A Solution to Homelessness is a documentary featuring 12 cities across the United States and highlights the success of the Housing First initiative. Sponsored by United Way of Central Maryland, the film screening was held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at The Senator Theatre with a panel discussion at the conclusion of the film featuring MOHS Executive Director Ernestina Simmons, Health Care for the Homeless CEO Kevin Lindamood, and Assistant Secretary for Homeless Solutions at MDHCD Danielle Meister.

This month, we want to raise awareness of the challenges faced by young people experiencing housing insecurity. YAB's youth resource guide is a one stop shop for vital resources available to Baltimore youth ages 18-24.

Executive Letter: Gratitude & Reflections
Dear Baltimore,
In observance of Women's History Month in March, I was truly humbled to be recognized by Mayor Scott in his Women As Revolutionaries (W.A.R.) series alongside several other incredible women in the City’s leadership who are changing the trajectory of Baltimore’s future every day in our respective fields. As we enter a new season, I want to take a moment to reflect on the revolutionary work we have been able to accomplish as a community these past few months. We have navigated the uncertainty of the federal landscape and made sure that the clients we serve in our federally funded permanent supportive housing program was able to achieve housing stability despite the chaos surrounding us, and for that I sincerely thank each of you! I remain grateful to serve the City of Baltimore as we continue working every day to enrich the lives of our most vulnerable neighbors.
