DPW Offices, Sanitation Yards Closed on Election Day
Trash/Recycling Makeup Day: Saturday, November 9


The Baltimore City Department of Public Works (DPW) Director Khalil Zaied reminds residents that all DPW offices and sanitation yards will be CLOSED on Election Day, Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

During the Election Day closure, trash and recycling collection, as well as street sweeping, WILL NOT be conducted

Trash/Recycling Makeup Day: Saturday, November 9.

DPW facilities closed on Election Day to residents and haulers include:

  •     Northwest Transfer Station, 5030 Reisterstown Road
  •     Quarantine Road Landfill, 6100 Quarantine Road
  •     Northwest Residential Drop-off Center, 2840 Sisson Street
  •     Southwestern Residential Drop-off Center, 701 Reedbird Avenue
  •     Eastern Residential Drop-off Center, 6101 Bowleys Lane

The City's 311 call center is OPEN on Election Day and all other City-observed holidays. Service requests are accepted from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week, 365 days a year.

DPW reminds residents and water customers to report water and sewer emergencies to the City’s 311 call center. To report an emergency, such as a water main break, Baltimore City residents can dial 311, and Baltimore County residents can call (443) 263-2220. Requests can also be submitted online or through the Balt311 mobile app, available on  Google Play for Android users or the Apple App Store for iOS users.
