Happy Holidays, Baltimore!
The holidays are a time when people find themselves surrounded by the simple joy of being home with loved ones. A reminder of the priceless gift that is a safe place to call home.
In the spirit of gratitude and compassion, MOHS extends a heartfelt thanks to each of you who has played a part in transforming lives and fostering hope throughout the year.
This season, let's celebrate the power of community and reflect on the profound impact that even the smallest acts of kindness can have. Wishing you a season filled with love, light, and the joy of making a positive impact.

Home for the Holidays!
'Home for the Holidays' is more than a campaign; it's a collection of stories that redefine what home means. Each story reminds us that factors that contribute to homelessness are universal and can happen to anyone. Help us share the stories of people with lived experience of homelessness and address the common challenges faced by our most vulnerable neighbors.
Congratulations to the countless households that exited homelessness this year and are celebrating the holidays with a safe place to call home. Let's keep working together to make sure homelessness is rare, brief, and nonrecurring in Baltimore City.

Recent News
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) released its 2023 Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR)
The AHAR report outlines the key findings of the Point-In-Time (PIT) Counts and Housing Inventory Counts (HIC) conducted in January 2023 in communities across the nation. Experiences of homelessness increased nationwide across all household types by 12% in 2023. Maryland is noted for having one of the largest decreases (39.1%) in experiences of homelessness from 2007-2023 (PIT Count data was first reported in 2007).
There has been a continuous decline over the past four years in the number of people counted during the PIT Count as experiencing homelessness in Baltimore City, however, this year’s three percent decline is considered not statistically significant. See how Baltimore compares to the rest of the nation in the AHAR report.
Key Findings are on pages 3-4.
