Weekend Road Closures for Friday, November 10th through Sunday, November 12th, 2023
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the temporary road closures and traffic modifications for the following activities this weekend. Traffic Modifications for the 2023 Veterans Day Parade
On Friday, street closures and parking restrictions will be implemented for the 2023 Veterans Day Parade.
The parade will kick off from the intersection of Charles and Centre Streets beginning at 12:00 noon, rain or shine. Participants will proceed south on Charles Street, left on Baltimore Street and left onto Gay Street to disband at E. Lexington Street near the War Memorial Plaza.
In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed to through traffic on Friday, November 10, 2023 at approximately 9:00 a.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect:
- Vernon Place from Cathedral Street to St. Paul Street
- Charles Street from Baltimore Street to Madison Street
- Centre Street from Park Avenue to St. Paul Street
- Lexington Street from Charles Street to St. Paul Street
- Lexington Street from Guilford Avenue to Gay Street.
- Holliday Street from Saratoga Street to Lexington Street
- Holliday Street from Fayette Street to Baltimore Street
- Commerce Street from Baltimore Street to Water Street
- Baltimore Street from Charels Street to Gay Street
- Gay Street from Pratt Street to Lexington Street
The following parking restrictions will be implemented on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.:
- Vernon Place from Cathedral Street to St. Paul Street (east bound travel only)
- Charles Street from Baltimore Street to Madison Street (both sides)
- Centre Street, from Park Avenue to St. Paul Street (south side)
- Lexington Street from Charles Street to St. Paul Street (south side)
- Lexington Street from Guilford Avenue to Gay Street (both sides)
- Gay Street from Pratt Street to Lexington Street (both sides)
- Fayette Street from Gay Street to Holliday Street (both sides)
- Holliday Street from Lexington Street to Saratoga Street (both sides)
- Holliday Street, from Fayette Street to Baltimore Street (both sides)
- Commerce Street, from Baltimore Street to Water Street (both sides)
Citizens attending the parade are encouraged to arrive early and use public parking facilities in the surrounding areas. All posted parking restrictions will be strictly enforced and vehicles parked in violation will be ticketed and towed.
Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be advised that temporary traffic stops will be implemented for the safety of parade participants. Transportation Enforcement Officers will be deployed in the area to facilitate the movement of traffic. Commuters should expect delays and are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes. Charm City Circulator service alert – Due to the road closures for the parade, the Charm City Circulator’s Purple and Green Routes will be operating with the following detours in effect on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Purple Route: Northbound buses will proceed north on Calvert Street, turn left on Madison Street and then right on Charles Street to continue its normal route. Stops affected include #303 Redwood Street (northbound), #304 Charles Street and Fayette Street (northbound), #305 Pleasant Street (northbound), #306 Hamilton Street (northbound) and #307 Washington Monument (northbound).

Green Route: Eastbound buses will stay straight on Guilford Avenue to South Street, turn left on Pratt Street, and right on President Street to continue its normal route. Stops affected include #114 Gay Street (eastbound), #115 Market Place (eastbound) and #116 Lombard Street (eastbound).
Traffic Modifications for the Big Dill Pickle Party
This weekend, temporary road closures will be implemented for the Big Dill Pickle Party which will be held at Power Plant Live.
In preparation for the event, the following road closures will be implemented from approximately 9:00 a.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023 through 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2023:
- Water Street closed between Frederick Street and Market Place
- Market Place closed between Water Street and Lombard Street
Access to the Harbor Park Garage will be maintained during these times. Motorists traveling in these vicinities should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Traffic Modifications for the All Night Community Resource Clinic
This weekend, temporary road closures will be implemented for the All Night Community Resource Clinic.
In preparation for the event, the following road closures will be implemented from approximately 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 10, 2023 through 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2023 with detours and parking restrictions in effect:
- Bradford Street closed between E. Monument Street and E. Madison Street
- Montford Street closed between E. Monument Street and E. Madison Street
- Milliman Street closed between Bradford Street and N. Montford Street
Motorists traveling in these vicinities should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Traffic Modifications for Crane Operations, Cleaning Activities & Special Events
This weekend, temporary road and lane closures will be in effect for crane operations, cleaning activities and special events.
On Friday, November 10, 2023, the following ramp closures will be implemented:
- North Avenue and Mt. Royal Avenue entrance ramps to the Jones Falls Expressway/I-83 north closed 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (cleaning and graffiti removal)
- Druid Park Lake Drive and 28th Street exit ramps from the northbound Jones Falls Expressway/I-83 north closed 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (cleaning and graffiti removal)
On Saturday, November 11, 2023, the following road closures will be implemented:
- Barre Street closed between S. Charles Street and Light Street 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (special event)
- West side of Light Street closed between Barre Street and Lee Street 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (special event)
- Eager Street closed between Charles and Lovegrove Streets 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (crane operation)
- Caroline Street closed between Thames and Dock Streets 3:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (crane operation)
- Wolfe Street lane closures between Monument and McElderry Streets 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (crane operation)
- Northbound and southbound MD 295 right lane closures from Bush Street to the city/county line 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (cleaning activities)
On Sunday, November 12, 2023, the following lane closures will be implemented:
- Northbound and southbound Jones Falls Expressway/I-83 left lane closures from Fayette Street to the city/county line 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (cleaning activities)
Motorists traveling in these vicinities should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Traffic Modifications for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar
This Sunday, traffic modifications will be in effect for the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, which will be held under the Jones Falls Expressway along Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay Streets.
On Sunday, November 12, 2023 the following street and lane closures will be implemented from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with detours in effect:
- Holliday Street closed from Pleasant Street to Saratoga Street
- Pleasant Street closed at Holliday Street
- Hillen Street center lane closure at Fallsway
