Baltimore City Towing Division Debuts New Online Payment System
BALTIMORE, MD (April 25, 2022) —The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (BCDOT) is pleased to launch a new process by which customers may use an online portal to pay towing fees. Previously this service was only available by providing a debit/credit card over the phone. Over the last six months, BCDOT Director Steve Sharkey accelerated the process which is now ready for full public launch after testing and application feedback.
Customers can now upload the required identification and proof-of-ownership documents securely online. The new weblink creates a more streamlined process and enhanced transparency following all security standards.
Inquiries must still be initiated through the traditional customer service phone line at 410-396-9958 for towing staff to verify ownership and vet necessary documentation. Following necessary verifications, customers will then have the option to pay online. This includes situations where the tow was associated with a car theft or criminal activity and is eligible for the tow fee waiver.
