Fayette Street Closure Now in Effect Due to Underground Fire
A portion of Fayette Street at the intersection of Gay Street through President Street will be closed until further notice.
BALTIMORE, MD – The Baltimore City Department of Transportation (BCDOT) would like to advise motorists that a portion of Fayette Street is now closed due to an underground fire.
At this time, the Fayette Street Exit of i83 is now closed to through traffic detours in effect. In addition, Fayette Street is closed beginning on N. Gay Street to President Street until further notice.
These closures are expected to remain in effect throughout the night. The Baltimore City Fire Department (BCFD) and Baltimore City Police Department (BPD) are on scene and responding to the emergency. Commuters traveling in this vicinity should watch changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
