DPW Service Update —  Sept. 3, 2020

Solid Waste Continuity of Service Plan

Baltimore City Department of Public Works Acting Director Matthew W. Garbark Aug. 27 outlined the Solid Waste Continuity of Service Plan to allow the Department to continue to provide residents with recycling collections and to solidify the Bureau of Solid Waste’s long-term trash collection operations.

A key part of this plan is the modification of the City’s residential recycling services. On Monday, August 31, all DPW recycling collections’ crews were diverted to trash collections on a full-time basis. While this plan is in effect, recycling will no longer be collected from residences. To continue to provide residents with recycling opportunities, DPW has opened Community Collection Centers in each of the 14 City Council Districts.

Residents are invited to submit any questions or concerns about the Continuity of Service Plan to: SolidWasteCOSPlan@Baltimorecity.Gov.
