Resurfacing work along Baltimore Street between Howard and Gay Streets began on Thursday, October 10, 2019. Phase I (Howard Street to Charles Street) of the Baltimore Street paving is complete. Our crews have started Phase II (Charles Street to South Street) of the project, which includes repairs to the ADA ramps, structure adjustments, and milling and paving. Phase II is scheduled to be completed by November 16, 2019, weather permitting. Daily lane closures will be implemented along this stretch of Baltimore Street from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day, weather permitting.
This weekend beginning Friday, November 8, 2019 at midnight — BCDOT will begin enhancements at the intersection of Baltimore Street between Liberty and Charles Street for milling and paving operations. Please use caution when traveling through this area as there will be posted full street closures while work is ongoing. All vehicles will be detoured by posted signs on this section of Baltimore Street.
Phase III (South Street to Gay Street), which will include repairs to the ADA ramps, structure adjustments, and milling and paving, will be completed by November 30, 2019 — weather permitting.
Construction work along Baltimore Street is scheduled to last for approximately 6 weeks. Temporary striping will be done as soon as possible, with permanent striping being done in the spring when the weather gets warmer. Motorists traveling in this vicinity may encounter delays and should allow additional travel time. Citizens should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns when approaching the work zone and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
