Weekend Closure of Northern Parkway
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that a portion of Northern Parkway is scheduled to close this weekend for the installation of a new pedestrian bridge, weather permitting.
Starting at 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 05, 2019, westbound Northern Parkway will be closed to through traffic between Cylburn Avenue and Greenspring Avenue with detours in effect. Then at approximately 12:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 06, 2019 eastbound Northern Parkway will also close to through traffic with detours in effect. Both directions of Northern Parkway will remain closed throughout the weekend as the pedestrian bridge is erected, and the entire roadway will be reopened to traffic by 5:00 a.m. on Monday, April 08, 2019.
During the closure, the exit ramps to westbound Northern Parkway from the Jones Falls Expressway/I-83 will remain open for motorists. Citizens traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Detours during closure:
Westbound Northern Parkway traffic will be detoured left (south/west) on Cylburn Avenue, right (north) on Greenspring Avenue, and left (west) back onto westbound Northern Parkway.
Eastbound Northern Parkway traffic will be detoured right (south) on Greenspring Avenue, left (north/east) on Cylburn Avenue and right (east) on Northern Parkway.
Haven Street Construction Work
This weekend, a portion of Haven Street will temporarily close for building construction work. On Saturday, April 06 and Sunday, April 07, 2019, Haven Street will be closed to through traffic between Hudson and Dillon Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day, with detours and parking restrictions in effect.
Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Lombard Street Lane Closures
This weekend, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of Lombard Street for a crane lift operation. On Saturday, April 06 and Sunday, April 07, 2019, lane closures will be implemented along Lombard Street between Greene and Penn Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day. At least one lane of through traffic will remain open for motorists during this time.
Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Traffic Modifications for the Cardinal Cup 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk
This Saturday, traffic modifications will be implemented for the 25th annual Cardinal Cup 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk. The event will begin and end at the School of the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen and kicks off at 8:00 a.m.
Participants will proceed south on Charles Street, west on Wyndhurst Avenue, north on Roland Avenue and east on Northern Parkway. Runners will then turn right on Charles Street to finish the race back at the School of the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen.
In preparation for the event, curb lane closures will be implemented along the following streets on Saturday, April 06, 2019, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.:
- West side of N. Charles Street – Northern Parkway to Wyndhurst Avenue
- North side of Wyndhurst Avenue – N. Charles Street to Roland Avenue
- East side of Roland Avenue – Wyndhurst Avenue to W. Northern Parkway
- South side of W. Northern Parkway – Roland Avenue to N. Charles Street
Motorists should be aware that temporary traffic stops may be implemented along the race route for the safety of participants. Citizens traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Lane Closures Along the Jones Falls Expressway
This Saturday, temporary lane closures that will be implemented along the Jones Falls Expressway (JFX) for tree trimming activities and street light repairs.
On Saturday, April 06, 2019 from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., temporary lane closures will be implemented along the northbound Jones Falls Expressway from Falls Road to the county line.
In addition to the lane closures, the following ramps will also intermittently close during these times with detours in effect:
- Falls Road entrance ramp to the southbound JFX
- Westbound 29th Street ramp to Druid Park Lake Drive
Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
Northern Parkway Lane Closures
On Saturday, temporary lane closures will be implemented along a portion of E. Northern Parkway for a crane lift operation. On Saturday, April 06, 2019, lane closures will be implemented along E. Northern Parkway between Hillen Road and Fenwick Avenue from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. At least one lane of through traffic will remain open for motorists during this time.

Redwood Street Closure
This Saturday, a portion of Redwood Street will temporarily close for a crane lift operation. On Saturday, April 06, 2019, Redwood Street will be closed to through traffic between Paca and Eutaw Streets from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.

W. 20th Street Closure
This Saturday, a portion of W. 20th Street will temporarily close for a crane lift operation. On Saturday, April 06, 2019, W. 20th Street will be closed to through traffic between Charles Street and Maryland Avenue from 3:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with detours and parking restrictions in effect.

Traffic Modifications for the Red Shoe Shuffle 5K
This Sunday, April 07, 2019, traffic modifications will be implemented for the 8th annual Red Shoe Shuffle 5K Run & Walk.
The event will begin at 8:30 a.m. and kicks off on Lexington Street between Arch and Pine Streets. Participants will proceed west on Lexington Street, left on Pine Street, left on W. Baltimore Street, and right on Eutaw Street. The course proceeds left on Pratt Street, right on Light Street next to the median, then left at Lee Street to enter the Inner Harbor Promenade. Participants will continue around the Promenade to Pratt Street and exit just past the Pratt Street Pavilion at Commerce Street, then head west on Lombard Street, north on Eutaw Street, west on W. Fayette Street then return on the same course via Pine Street back to W. Lexington Street.
In preparation for the event, the following streets will be closed on Sunday, April 07, 2019:
- Lexington Street from Arch to Pine Streets 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Northbound Eutaw Street from Pratt to Fayette Streets 8:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
In addition, the following parking restrictions will be implemented on Sunday, April 07, 2019:
- Pine Street from W. Lexington to W. Baltimore Streets 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- South side of W. Baltimore Street from Pine to Eutaw Streets 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- Lombard Street from Commerce Street to South Street 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
- Lexington Street from Arch to Pine Streets from 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 06 to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 07, 2019
During the event, one lane of travel will be coned off for participants along the race route. Temporary traffic stops may be implemented for the safety of participants. Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
