Elderly Man Found in West Baltimore House Fire

Thursday, January 10, 2019 – (Baltimore, MD) – On Tuesday, January 9, just after 9:30 p.m., Baltimore City Firefighters responded to the 3800 block of Pall Mall Road for the report of a fire. Once firefighters arrived on the scene, smoke was showing from the second floor of a 2-story middle of the group dwelling.

As firefighters entered the home and during their primary search, they located an unconscious 93-year-old man on the second floor. Firefighters immediately pulled him from the home and began performing CPR.

Shortly after, he was transported to an area hospital in cardiac arrest and was pronounced deceased at 10:30 p.m.

The 93-year-old man has yet to be identified and the cause of death will be determined by the State Medical Examiner’s Office. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

So far this year, there haven’t been any fire fatalities in Baltimore City.
