Department of Transportation Makes Sand Bags Available for Baltimore City Residents and Business Owners
The Baltimore City Department of Transportation announced today that it will make sand bags available for Baltimore City residents and business owners.
With the threat of possible tidal flooding in low lying areas due to Hurricane Florence, the Department of Transportation will have limited quantities of sand bags available at the Broadway Pier in Fells Point. The pier is located along the south side of Thames Street opposite Broadway Plaza. Sandbags will be available to Baltimore City residents and business owners TODAY, Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 4:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Residents and businesses owners will be limited to 10 sandbags each on a first-come, first-served basis. Those picking up sandbags will be asked to show proof of residence or business ownership in the City of Baltimore, such as a driver’s license, utility bill or business license. Residents/business owners must fill and transport their sandbags. Sand, bags, bag ties and shovels will be supplied.
Residents should stay tuned to local media channels for updated weather information. Citizens are also encouraged to follow the Department of Transportation on Twitter @BmorecityDOT and Facebook at Baltimore City Department of Transportation.
