Hanover Street Bridge to Close for Paving Work

Resurfacing work will improve driving conditions along the bridge

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists that the Hanover Street Bridge/Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge will temporarily close next weekend for repair work.  During the closure, structure adjustments will be made and the bridge will be resurfaced in order to provide an improved riding surface.  

To facilitate repairs, the Hanover Street Bridge/Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge will be closed to through traffic in both directions between Waterview Avenue and Cromwell Street beginning at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018 (weather permitting) with detours in effect.  The bridge will remain closed until 5:00 a.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018. 

Detour signs will be posted in the area during the closure.  Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for changing traffic patterns and are encouraged to use alternate routes.  Citizens can utilize Russell Street/I-295 as an alternate route during the closure.
