Cause of Fatal House Fire in
Sandtown-Winchester Community Released

Friday, April 6, 2018 – (Baltimore, MD) – A fatal house fire on Friday, January 26, that claimed the lives of two children in the Sandtown-Winchester community was caused by combustibles too close to a space heater.

Firefighters from the Baltimore City Fire Department responded to the 1100 block of N. Mount St., where they found heavy fire coming from the second floor of a 3-story occupied dwelling. One adult woman and two children were pulled from the home. The children, a 1-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl were in cardiac arrest at the time. The woman had non-life threatening injuries.

The children were identified as Kameron Wilson,1, and Jaliyah Wilson, 2. They died a short time later at the hospital.

So far this year, there have been six fire fatalities in Baltimore City.
