West Baltimore Fire Claims the Life of One Victim

March 29, 2017 - (Baltimore, MD)Just before 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, Baltimore City firefighters responded to the scene of a house fire in the 2700 block of W. North Ave. Upon arrival companies found a 3-story occupied store front dwelling with heavy smoke and fire coming from the second floor. 

As firefighters worked to quickly extinguished the blaze, they discovered an unresponsive women during their primary search. She was transported to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.

On Monday, March 27, at 5:29 p.m., the woman perished at an area hospital. The cause of death will be determined by the State Medical Examiner’s Office. There were no reports of any other occupants inside the dwelling at the time of the fire.

The woman was later identified as 60-year-old Ok Pae Bae.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

So far this year there have been 16 fire fatalities in Baltimore City.
