Race For Our Kids 5K/10K Runs

 

 

The Baltimore City Department of Transportation would like to advise motorists of the traffic modifications in effect for the 7th annual Race For Our Kids 5K and 10K runs, along with a 1 mile family walk. The event will be held in Mount Washington this Sunday, September 25, 2011.

 

The 10K course will begin at 8:00 a.m. and participants will start on Pimlico Road at the intersection of Ken Oak Road. Runners will head north on Pimlico Road, left on Cross Country Boulevard and right on Fallstaff. Participants will turn right on Westbrook Road and left on Labyrinth Road and turn around near Hatton Road. Runners will follow Labyrinth Road and turn right on Westbrook Road, left on Fallstaff Road and left on Cross Country Boulevard. Participants will take a slight right on Greenspring Avenue to finish near the intersection of Northern Parkway.

 

The 5K Run will begin at 8:25 a.m. from Pimlico and Ken Oak Roads. Participants will travel north on Pimlico Road and left on Cross Country Boulevard to Pinkney Road where they will turn around and run on the other side of Cross Country Boulevard to Greenspring Avenue. Runners will turn right on Greenspring Avenue and head south to the finish line just before the intersection of Northern Parkway.

 

During the event, one lane of travel will be coned off for participants along the race route wherever possible. These lane closures will be in effect along the race route on Sunday, September 25, 2011 from 5:00 a.m. until approximately 1:00 p.m.  

 

Commuters should be aware that temporary traffic stops may occur during this event for the safety of participants. Motorists traveling in this vicinity should be on the watch for pedestrians and are encouraged to use alternate routes.
