1B4J Community Forum to Help Baltimore Residents Prepare for Free Career Training
Sponsored by MOED and ABC, East Baltimore Forum is first in series of One Baltimore for Jobs (1B4J) events to provide resources and information about career options

 

WHAT:                  

The Mayor’s Office of Employment Development and Associated Black Charities will co-host a neighborhood-based, work-readiness forum to inform the public about current and future One Baltimore for Jobs (1B4J) job training opportunities. The forum is not a job fair; it is an opportunity for job seekers to get ready for work by learning about current and upcoming resources to improve their career prospects. Baltimore residents can become more competitive in the job market by accessing information about free training, certification and educational opportunities through 1B4J in industries such as construction, healthcare, manufacturing, transportation/logistics, and more.

All Baltimore city jobseekers, ages 17 and up are welcome. No registration is required. A GED is not required, and ex-offenders are welcome to attend. For more information, call 410.396.1910 or visit www.facebook.com/OneBaltimoreforJobs.

BACKGROUND:

One Baltimore for Jobs (1B4J) is made possible by a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor and is administered by the Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Employment Development in partnership with Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation. Twelve workforce-training vendors have been selected to provide training in a variety of high-growth industries.
