COUNCILMAN SCOTT STATEMENT ON DECISION OF MAYOR STEPHANIE RAWLINGS-BLAKE

BALTIMORE—Today, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake announced that she would not be seeking reelection. I would personally like to thank the Mayor for her two decades of service to our city.  Despite the many challenges that we have faced during her tenor Mayor Rawlings-Blake has made significant progress for our city. 

Although, we often disagree I cannot argue with some of the historic progress. This includes the lowest year for violent crime on record in 2011, working to bring a billion dollars in school construction money to our schools and righting the city's fiscal future. No one is perfect and I wish Mayor Rawlings-Blake and her family all the best.
