Assistant Attorney General - Maryland Transit AdministrationPosting Date: October 20, 2020 Closing Date: November 4, 2020 Job Title: Assistant Attorney General, Senior Counsel Position Type: Regular Full Time Location: Maryland Transit Administration, 6 St. Paul Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21202 Description: The Office of the Attorney General is seeking applicants for an Assistant Attorney General, Senior Counsel to represent the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA). MTA is a multi-modal transit system, operating Local and Commuter Buses, Light Rail, Metro-Subway, Maryland Regional Commuter (MARC) Train Service and a comprehensive Paratransit (mobility) system. It owns several freight railroad right of ways and has agreements with several freight carriers operating over those right of ways. The MTA attorneys handle a variety of matters, including procurements, contract disputes, personnel and police actions, torts, real estate, environmental law, and rail. This position serves as lead attorney on complex commercial and real estate transactions in which the Department is involved. The Attorney will confer with other transactional attorneys on the substance and strategy of their work while handling his or her own docket of advice and transactional work.
