Dear Residents,

The Town Election is on April 30th. Mark your calendars and check out the Town Clerk's section for all the details about voter registration deadlines, the 2024 candidates preview and the polling location information. You can also find information about Annual Town Meeting scheduled for May 6th.

If you’re looking for a new volunteer opportunity, the Health Department is seeking new members for the Medical Reserves Corps and there are still openings on several boards and committees.

If you are planning a spring construction project, be sure to review the Building Department's message about permits.

It's yard clean-up time and the Department of Public Works begins yard waste collection week on April 1st on your regular trash day.

The Planning Division has an important Public Service Announcement (PSA) about the MBTA Communities Law and the Town's commitment to create more housing opportunities for all. This PSA will educate residents in preparation for a vote at Town Meeting.

You can always count on the Recreation Department, the Libraries, and the Council on Aging having multiple, enriching offerings for both the youngest residents and the young at heart.

Are you looking for a new job? Curious about other upcoming Community Events?  Keep reading!

Westwood’s Climate Action Task Force will host a public meeting on the Climate Action, Resiliency, and Sustainability (CRS) Plan on Thursday, April 11th, at 7 pm in the Community Meeting Room at the Library, 660 High Street. This meeting will review some of the findings and action steps, include a presentation by Tufts University graduate students on the possibility of microgrids for better resiliency, and get feedback from the Task Force and our residents. The CRS plan will help inform future town spending on reducing our carbon footprint, increasing clean energy use, reducing vulnerability, and adapting to the changing climate. All interested parties are invited to attend.

MBTA Communities Law & Zoning in Westwood

At the upcoming May 6th Annual Town Meeting, the Planning Board will propose to expand the Mixed-Use Multi-Family Residential Overlay District (MUMFROD) zoning to meet the MBTA Communities Law requirements and as part of its commitment to creating more housing opportunities for all.

Westwood Department of Public Works

;fkd;

The Department of Public Works is asking for each household's assistance! Westwood's recycling contamination has increased significantly. We have been fortunate through both resident's efforts and Town negotiations to avoid the impact of a contamination charge for a while.  Based on the results of our most recent audit, additional contamination charges will be applied if we do not correct this immediately.  With the help of each resident, we are certain we can decrease and eliminate recycling contamination. Watch the DPW's PSA for important information.
