Volunteer Opportunities
Cemetery flags – Wednesday May 22th – 1:00pm
The Town of Westwood will be refreshing all the flags on the graves of all veterans in the Westwood cemeteries. It’s a fairly simple task of removing the old flag and replacing it with a new one. Westwood keeps flags up all year so they look a bit ragged after 12 months. We will start at the new cemetery and proceed to the old cemetery to replace all the flags.
Flowers – Saturday May 25th – 8:30am
A small flower is planted at each veteran grave as well. The Town supplies the flowers and these are put at each grave. We will have some gardening tools to share but feel free to bring your own. Flowers will first be replaced at the new cemetery and then the old cemetery.
As a volunteer, we’d like you to help with something of your choice. Each of these tasks is important and they all need to be done by Memorial Day, May 27th. If you need service hours, we are happy to sign for those.
