July 4th Closures, Trash/Recycling Delay, Road Race
Thursday is July 4th, and all non-emergency Town Offices in Dedham will be closed in observance of the holiday. Please review the following information regarding closures, delays, and additional safety resources:
CLOSURES
The following non-emergency Town Offices and Buildings will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024:
- Town Hall
- Ames Senior Center
- Public Library (both locations)
- Dolan Center
- Anthony P. Mucciaccio Dedham Pool
- Public Works
Note: Police Department and Fire Department remain open 24 hours / 7 days a week:
TRASH/RECYCLING/YARD WASTE COLLECTION DELAY
Recycling, trash, and yard waste will not be collected on Thursday, July 4, 2024. As a result, all collections will be delayed one day for the rest of the week (see list below):

Four on the 4th Road Race
The 13th Four on the 4th Road Race will take place on Thursday, July 4th at 9:00 a.m. and will begin at Fairbanks Park at 177 Rustcraft Road.
This four-mile annual road race is a 100% volunteer effort with all proceeds going to support Osteosarcoma research and the effort to find a cure, in honor of Sally Naser. Fireworks Safety - Leave it to the Professionals
The Dedham Fire Department and Police Department are always busy on the Fourth of July, but we know fireworks happen all summer. As we enjoy the summer season, celebrate more holidays, and host more gatherings, we want to take this time to talk about Fireworks Law here in Massachusetts and Fireworks Safety.
