Below is a list of the upcoming public meetings and events taking place in Dedham over the next week:

PUBLIC MEETINGS

• Monday, June 17, 2024:
  • 6:00 p.m. – 2024 Flag Day Parade (NEW DATE due to weather)
  • 7:00 p.m. – Human Rights Commission at Town Hall
• Tuesday, June 18, 2024:
  • 5:00 p.m. – Dedham Housing Authority board at Housing Authority Office
  • 7:00 p.m. – School Committee at Avery School
  • 7:00 p.m. – Zoning Board of Appeals via Zoom
• Wednesday, June 19, 2024:
  • All-Day – Non-Emergency Town Offices Closed for Juneteenth Holiday
    • Reminder: There is NO DELAY in trash/recycling collection this week. Please follow your REGULAR COLLECTION DAY.
  • 3:00 p.m. – Juneteenth Celebration at Memorial Field (hosted by Human Rights Commission)
• Thursday, June 20, 2024:
  • 9:00 a.m. – Parking Public Hearing - Appeals at Public Safety Building (moved from July 19 due to holiday)
  • 5:15 p.m. – Council on Aging Board at the Ames Senior Center and via Zoom
  • 7:00 p.m. – Conservation Commission via Zoom
• Summer Hours on Fridays:
  • Town Hall and the Ames Senior Center/COA close at 1:00 p.m. every Friday through Labor Day. Please review the posted calendars online and throughout the building.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

• Saturday, June 15, 2024:
  • 8:00 a.m. – Family Shopping at the Dedham Food Pantry (weekly event)
  • 9:00 a.m. – Cardboard Recycling Day! at DPW (55 River Street)
  • 9:00 a.m. – Community Clean-Up Events at Wilson Mountain and Ames Street (start)
  • 9:00 a.m. – Juneteenth Celebration at Endicott Estate (hosted by Dan O'Neil)
• Wednesday, June 19, 2024:
  • 2:00 p.m. – Summer Farmer’s Market at First Church Green (hosted by Dedham Square Circle)
  • 3:00 p.m. – Juneteenth Celebration at Memorial Field (hosted by Human Rights Commission)
• Saturday, June 22, 2024:
  • 8:00 a.m. – Family Shopping at the Dedham Food Pantry (weekly event)
  • 4:00 p.m. – Dedham Porchfest 2024 (locations vary; visit dedhamporchfest.org for more info)

COUNCIL ON AGING EVENTS AND PROGRAMS

• Monday, June 17, 2024:
  • 1:00 p.m. – S.S. Pierce: A Boston Tradition: Come hear local historian Anthony Sammarco speak about this purveyor of groceries, goods, and libations to Bostonians in the 19th century and more.

  • 2:15 p.m. – COA Friends Meeting: Provide fundraising, advocacy, and support for COA interests. Meet at the Ames Senior Center.
• Tuesday, June 18, 2024:
  • 1:30 p.m. – Karaoke: Join us for this fun monthly get together and sing with other seniors!
    • Drop in to join the fun or call 781-751-9495 to reserve your spot today!
• Wednesday, June 19, 2024:
  • 11:00 a.m. – Home Care 101: Join us for a presentation with Marcy Leiman, Community Outreach Liaison from Right at Home in Foxboro. Refreshments will be served.
