William B. Gould Statue Unveiling Ceremony
Under a clear blue sky and surrounded by more than 100 residents, neighbors, friends, and multiple generations of the Gould family, the new William B. Gould Statue was officially unveiled at Gould Park on Sunday afternoon.
Event host and Red Sox announcer Joe Castiglione welcomed everyone and introduced speakers: Princeton University Professor Tera Hunter, William B. Gould IV, Sculptor Pablo Eduardo, Father Wayne Belschner, and Father Chitral De Mel. Also in attendance were members of the Dedham High School and Dedham Middle School Music Programs who performed the National Anthem.
Presenting the Colors and assisting in the Ceremony was the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Company A, Commander John Benda, and Dedham VSO Joe Hamilton.
Brian Keaney of the William B. Gould Memorial Committee closed out the program with thanks to all who donated their time, energy, and money to support this project and helped to bring it to fruition.
Three of William B. Gould's great-great-great grandchildren had the honor of unveiling the statue to a crowd of cheers and roaring applause.
