The Kick the Flu+2 Summit brings together clinicians, health professionals, educators, and public health advocates to explore the latest flu, COVID-19, and RSV vaccine recommendations, review current data trends, and share effective strategies to strengthen immunization efforts. Air Improvement Relief Effort Program: Free Air Purifiers
The Air Improvement Relief Effort Program is now accepting applications. Eligible households can receive up to three air purifiers and replacement filters for free, while supplies last. Most households in the communities of Otay Mesa West, San Ysidro, Egger Highlands, Nestor, Tijuana River Valley, and the City of Imperial Beach are eligible. Households within the program area are encouraged to apply by Tuesday, September 1.

2026–2027 Mini-Grant Applications
The Childhood Obesity Initiative (COI) of San Diego will award $15,000 in mini-grant funding for short-term projects that support healthy eating and active living for children and families in San Diego County. Applicants may request up to $3,000 per project, and applications are open through Friday, September 4.

From Classroom to Career: Healthcare Pathways in San Diego is a two-part experience to learn about career options, education and training pathways, and connect in real-world settings. The first session will take place virtually on Wednesday, September 9, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.

Group Coaching for Dads and Father Figures
BrightLife Kids is launching group coaching for new dads and father figures. A small group of parents will meet for weekly online sessions led by an expert coach. Topics will change from week to week, but all will center around helping caregivers develop confidence, balance, communication, and parenting skills. Signups open August 24!

Free Food Distributions
In partnership with Feeding San Diego and the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, the County of San Diego is expanding free food distributions at six community locations. There are no income or residence requirements to receive food. County staff will be on-site to help with CalFresh applications and work requirements.
