Holiday Assistance Programs

This season, 2-1-1 San Diego has compiled community resources including local holiday programs offering meals, gift and toy distributions, festive events, and other seasonal support for families and individuals in need. In addition to holiday resources, 2-1-1 can help individuals access food, housing, utility assistance, and other essential services to ensure a stable and supportive winter.

Public Health Updates

2025-2026 Flu Season Updates

The CDPH recommend that everyone ages 6 months and older get a flu vaccine to stay protected this season. Getting vaccinated helps reduce the risk of flu during the holidays. CDPH also offers a communications toolkit with resources to help prevent the spread of flu.

Toolkit Hub for Respiratory Viruses Update

The CDPH Respiratory Communication Toolkit Hub offers resources to help individuals stay healthy during flu, COVID-19, RSV, and other respiratory virus seasons. The toolkit now includes an updated fact sheet with guidance on immunizations, prevention methods like hand hygiene and masking, and strategies for reducing virus spread in schools and among students.

Registration is now open for the 8th Annual Shane Harris Community Christmas Day Breakfast and Gift Giveaway on Thursday, December 25 at 8:00 am! This festive event welcomes youth, unsheltered families, low-income households, and military families to enjoy free breakfast, gift giveaways, and fun activities. Volunteers are invited to join and help support!

Vaping can negatively affect oral health by increasing the risk of irritated gums and cavities. Over time, it can disrupt the mouth's natural balance, taking a toll on teeth and gums.
