YOUTH SECTOR ANNOUNCEMENTS

Youth Climate Art Contest

All San Diego youth ages 18 and under are invited to submit any art medium depicting the theme of "fast fashion!" Selected works will be showcased virtually on the AAP San Diego website and in-person at a gallery in La Jolla. The top 10 winners will also receive $100 Target gift cards.

Submissions are due by June 15th, 2025! For more information, visit the webpage.

Summer at Your Library

Participate in San Diego County Library's Summer Learning Challenge! Register online or stop by any library branch, keep track of your progress through the learning log, and complete books and activities from now until August 31st, 2025 to receive prizes!

Youth Mental Wellness Practice

Check out the Youth Wellness Toolkit created by youth for youth! These resources strive to help you support your mental well-being, find relatable wellness resources, build healthy routines that stick, and thrive everyday.

A Day at the Park

The Port of San Diego is hosting "A Day at the Park," a free family-friendly multicultural celebration at Bayfront Park in Chula Vista! There will be local food vendors, entertainment, performances, and activities.

COMMUNITY RESOURCES

First Time Camping Program

County Parks has a no-cost program for first time campers! Camping equipment is provided, and park staff will be on site to share helpful information like how to set up a campsite, how to start a campfire, and outdoor safety tips. Visit the website to learn more and reserve a campsite!

Girls Rising Mentorship Program

Girls Rising is dedicated to supporting girls ages 8-17 from underserved communities by providing positive role models and unwavering support. Apply to become a mentor or a mentee at their website!
