February is Children's Dental Health Month

Every February, the United States observes National Children's Dental Health Month, an initiative that promotes oral health and overall well-being among children. You can promote these simple messages amongst your patients, colleagues, and families to raise awareness about the significance of dental health in a child’s life.

Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2020–2025

The Dietary Guidelines for Americans from the U.S. Department of Agriculture provide advice on what to eat and drink to meet nutrient needs, promote health, and help prevent chronic disease. This edition of the Dietary Guidelines is the first to provide guidance for healthy dietary patterns by life stage, from birth through older adulthood, and includes guidance for women who are pregnant or lactating.

Wildfire Smoke and Ash Safety

CDPH developed a new fact sheet about how to protect yourself from wildfire smoke and ash which can contain toxic particles that can irritate your skin, eyes, nose, throat or harm your lungs and heart. If you or your loved one experiences chest pain or breathing issues, seek emergency medical attention immediately. Supporting Students and Caregivers in Kinship/Grandfamilies

This toolkit shares five concrete sets of actions that you can take to more meaningfully and inclusively reach and serve grandparents and other kin caregivers and the students they are raising. The San Diego County Library is seeking performers and educators to provide programs at library branches on an as-needed basis. Register on BUYNET to submit an application before 3:00pm on March 15. Youth Mental Health Academy | Three Students Interacting

Tell Your Students About YMHA

Applications are now open for the Youth Mental Health Academy (YMHA) 2025-2026 cohort. YMHA is a 14-month community-based career development program designed to introduce high school students to the mental health field and equip them with the tools to succeed. Apply by March 31, 2025.

All Kids Play: Youth Sports Grants

All Kids Play provides funding to families and communities who lack the resources to pay for youth sports. Grants are available to qualifying families with kids in grades K-12 and not-for-profit community-based recreational sports organizations in low-income areas on a need and first-come, first served basis. Individual grants can be used for registration, equipment and other associated fees for sports classes, recreational leagues, and travel sports.
