Connection Hub Exhibitor Application NOW OPEN!

We are now accepting exhibitor applications for the 2024 Live Well Advance Conference and School Summit Connection Hub. The Connection Hub is a place for Live Well Advance attendees to get inspired, meet with experts, and check out the latest programs, resources, and activities from our partners. Apply to be an exhibitor by September 20, 2024.

Check Your Mood 2024

Check Your Mood is on October 10, 2024. Check Your Mood is an annual reminder that mental health checkups, including depression screenings, should be a regular and integral part of your overall healthcare.

We need your help to offer free mental health resources and screenings. You can help by:

Distributing flyers and promoting the event with the e-toolkit
Hosting an in-person site with Check Your Mood screenings
Setting up a resource table with Check Your Mood materials
Joining the social media campaign

Fill out the site registration form by Thursday, September 26, to let us know how you are participating in Check Your Mood 2024. Thank you for helping raise awareness and support for mental health in San Diego County!

Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

In honor of Suicide Prevention Month this September, Behavioral Health Services has created a Suicide Prevention Toolkit with downloadable and shareable content such as social media posts, resource guides, and activity worksheets. You can also check out mental health trainings, find suicide prevention events in your area, and participate in the 30-day Mental Wellness Practice.

Sexual Health Awareness Month

It's Sexual Health Awareness Month! Use the sexual health toolkits and campaign materials to highlight the importance of sexual health, increase understanding about STIs, and provide resources for free testing, vaccination, and sexual health support.

Grants Available to Local Educators

The Cal Coast Cares Foundation is now accepting grant applications from local educators at community and state colleges or universities in San Diego or Riverside counties to support special classroom projects in any of the STREAM fields. Selected educators will receive a grant of $500-$2,500. Apply for the grant by October 7, 2024.

Leading Inclusive Learning Environments in Higher Education

Check out the Department of Education's new resource guide: Free to Learn: Leading Inclusive Learning Environments in Higher Education. The guide provides tools to institutions of higher education to foster safe and inclusive campuses through the Israel-Hamas conflict and beyond.

Join the Environmental Justice Workgroup

The Environmental Justice Workgroup is a new advisory group committed to advancing climate priorities such as air quality, healthy food systems, and access to safe, clean, and green outdoor spaces by implementing community-driven solutions. They are looking for members from diverse backgrounds, including youth ages 16-24, academics or researchers from this field, local tribal members, and more. Apply to be a member by November 11, 2024, or register for an information session on September 24 or October 24 from 4:30-5:30pm to learn more.

Join the Youth Changemakers Summit

At the Youth Changemakers Summit from September 28 - 29, youth ages 15-24 and youth allies will have access to training, intergenerational networks, and leadership opportunities that will allow them to organize their communities to solve the issues that affect youth the most. No prior experience or knowledge is needed, and everyone is welcome to this free two-day conference at San Diego City College. Register today!

CalFresh 101 - College Student Edition

College students are invited to join a training on Friday, September 20 at 9:00 am to learn about CalFresh eligibility requirements, how to maintain benefits, outreach strategies and resources, and more. Register now to equip yourself with the knowledge and tools to navigate CalFresh benefits as a college student.
