FEMA Major Disaster Designation Made for San Diego County

FEMA will offer individual assistance to qualifying residents and businesses who were affected by the flooding from the storm. FEMA will offer Individuals and Households Program Assistance.

The program provides financial assistance and direct services to eligible individuals and households who have uninsured or underinsured necessary expenses and serious needs.
The financial assistance is intended to help meet basic needs and supplement disaster recovery efforts.
If you were impacted by the Jan. 22 flooding, you can apply for FEMA assistance by visiting disasterassistance.gov and clicking “Let’s Get Started.”

that want to locate or stay and grow in California. A total of $492,129,004 in
California Competes Tax Credit is available for allocation in the 2023-2024 fiscal year.

2023-24 California Farm to School Incubator Grant Program

The California Department of Food and Agriculture’s (CDFA) California Farm to School Incubator Grant Program will award competitive grants to support projects that cultivate equity, nurture students, build climate resilience, and create scalable and sustainable change.

The California Opportunity Youth Apprenticeship (COYA) Grant is a new funding source to develop and test innovative practices to increase the participation of opportunity youth in pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs. COYA will also demonstrate the impact of apprenticeship on employment and earnings outcomes for opportunity youth.

2023-24 Listos California Community Disaster Aid (LD) Program RFP

The purpose of the Listos California Community Disaster Aid (LD) Program is to reimburse community-based organizations (CBOs) throughout the State for work performed in the direct aid of individuals and families impacted by a disaster during response and recovery efforts.

Agriculture Initiative

The Employment Training Panel's Agriculture Initiative will fund up to $10M in training for employers seeking to address the critical shortage of qualified workers and systemic challenges in increasing the number of workers with appropriate skills to fill existing and emerging jobs in agriculture.

SCHOOL GRANTS

Education for Homeless Children Grant

The California Department of Education is now accepting grant applications for the Education for Homeless Children and Youth Program. The purpose of this program is to facilitate the enrollment, attendance, and success in school of homeless children and youth, and ensure homeless children and youth have equal access to the same free, appropriate, public education as provided to all other students. Applications are due March 7, 2024.

State of California Department of Education

College and Career Access Pathways Grant

The California Department of Education is now accepting applications for the College and Career Access Pathways Grant. The goal of this funding is to provide incentives for local educational agencies to establish partnerships with community colleges that give students access to college courses while in high school, especially students who may not be college bound or are underrepresented in higher education. Applications are due March 29, 2024

Cal Coast Cares Foundation Student Scholarship

Scholarship applications are now being accepted through April 15, 2024, for college-bound high school students and current or former foster youth.

LOANS

SBA Disaster Loans

Businesses and private nonprofit organizations may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed property, equipment, inventory, and other business assets. The loans will cover losses that are not fully covered by insurance or other recoveries.
