Feedback on Algiers Ferry Terminal Renovation
We want to hear from our riders as we begin our renovation of the Algiers Ferry Terminal. This renovation aims to provide a terminal facility that better meets operational, rider and community needs. Join us for two listening sessions to tell us what you’d like to see: Thursday, March 7 at the Algiers Regional Library (3014 Holiday Drive, New Orleans, LA 70131) from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and again on Saturday, March 9, at the Algiers Ferry Terminal from 10 a.m. to noon.
Update on Rampart Streetcar Line Construction
RTA has begun the final phase of the Rampart Streetcar line which was damaged during the Hard Rock collapse. After a few delays with competing construction projects and Mardi Gras, crews and contractors are rebuilding this historic transportation infrastructure, which includes our overhead catenary power lines. We expect the construction phase to be completed at the end of March, followed by six weeks of training and testing. At this point we expect full St. Claude-Rampart streetcar service to resume in late-May. The Canal Streetcar line will resume service a couple weeks after the construction phase ends.
