Ride fare free on Rosa Parks Day / Transit Equity Day
 RTA will waive transit fares for Rosa Parks Day, also known as Transit Equity Day, on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2023. Riders can ride at no charge on all RTA buses, streetcars, and ferries. This fare suspension is the result of the RTA Board of Commissioners adopting the agency Fare Policy on Sept. 27, 2022. This policy establishes transparent guidance for all fare elements and fare-related decisions at RTA. It establishes RTA’s goals, values, and commitments as they relate to fares. The Fare Policy includes language to observe both Rosa Parks Day on her Feb. 4 birthday and Claudette Colvin Day on her Sept. 5 birthday.
Bus shelter installation update
 RTA has installed several additional shelters, with more on the way – reinforcing our dedication to enhancing public transportation throughout the city of New Orleans.
4 shelters have been installed at: Alumni Drive @ Elysian Fields, N. Miro St. @ Elysian Fields, Morrison Road @ Martin Drive, L.B. Landry Ave. @ Newton St.
Construction has begun on: Michoud Blvd. @ Chef Menteur Hwy., Chef Menteur Hwy. @ Dong Phong, Bullard Ave. @ East Barrington Drive.
Construction is expected to start soon on: Franklin Ave. @ Gentilly Blvd., Leonidas St. at S. Claiborne Ave., Napoleon Ave. @ Freret St., Napoleon Ave. @ Tchoupitoulas St.

DBE/SBE workshop shares plans for success
 We were excited to host a workshop for our small and emerging business owners about how to write a bank and/or an investor-ready business plan. This workshop provided insights to small and emerging business proprietors on both conventional and alternative avenues for debt and equity financing.
Winter 2024 Service Change update
 On Jan. 14, the RTA adjusted the frequency of fixed-route bus service to provide more reliable service to our riders. Learn about the new schedules (including which routes are affected), how we are working to improve service reliability, and how to provide feedback at norta.com.
