Mayor's Office of Cultural Economy celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the Dome-coming with the Steve Gleason Foundation.
Thank you to Steve Gleason and the Gleason Foundation marking the 20th anniversary of the Dome-coming, the night the New Orleans Saints returned to the Superdome following Hurricane Katrina. Gleason received a Key to the City from Mayor Helena Moreno, and Steve was joined by former Saints Drew Bress and Scott Fujita. A Second-line parade followed from the steps at Gallier Hall to the Caesars Superdome.
We also featured SPY BOY by Artist Compton III.
SPY BOY is a New Orleans-rooted character and art project inspired by the city’s culture, traditions, people, and visual identity. Over the past few years, I’ve used the character through public art, large-scale installations, collectibles, and community-centered experiences as a way to celebrate New Orleans and introduce pieces of our culture to new audiences. The inflatable is designed to invite participation. People naturally stop, take photographs, interact with it, and share the experience.
The Louis Armstrong International Airport (MSY), in partnership with the Mayor's Office of Cultural Economy (OCE) issued a call for musicians interested in performing at the Airport as part of its live entertainment program for 2027. Interested local musicians are invited to apply before Friday, November 6, 2026, for the opportunity to entertain the thousands of travelers flying in and out of the region each day.
Jazz is the preferred genre for performances at MSY; however, the following genres may also be considered: Blues, Zydeco, Funk, R&B/Soul, and Classical. Performers will be paid a standard rate and will have the opportunity to receive tips.
A call for musicians is issued annually, and applicants will be evaluated by a committee that includes representatives from MSY, OCE, and the local music community
