New Orleans City Council Issues Statement on City’s Decision to Withdraw Application from State Bond Commission
NEW ORLEANS, LA — The New Orleans City Council has issued a joint statement on the City's decision to withdraw the application from the State Bond Commission.
"It is disappointing that the City's financial needs have become the subject of political disagreement rather than collaborative problem-solving. New Orleans is an economic hub and powerhouse that anchors revenue for the State of Louisiana as a whole. Simply put, when New Orleans wins, Louisiana wins.
The City Council supports Mayor Moreno's decision to withdraw the City's application before next week's Bond Commission meeting.
Now is not the time to waver. There is simply too much on the line to get distracted with politics. Together we stand united for a better New Orleans and a better tomorrow."
